Often when we’re in care, things can feel overwhelming in so many ways. But one of the biggest things can be feeling like we’re the only ones going through it. We can often feel alone, like everything is happening to us, and that there’s no way out.
We’re also sometimes told that we’ll never amount to much. We see plenty of examples around us of things not going well, which can make it easy to believe that this is what our future will look like too.
Reading ‘in care and incredible’ reminded me that we can achieve anything. In fact, I believe that sometimes it’s because of what we’ve been through that we can use it as fuel to succeed.
Whether that’s in business, sport, our careers or simply in life, what we’ve experienced can often help lead us towards our purpose. The book gives so many examples of where this has been the case.
It’s this kind of inspiration that can make a real difference, especially in those moments when we’re feeling alone or questioning what we can achieve. What’s happened to us doesn’t have to define where we end up. It can be the very thing that drives us forward.
