Business continuity and preparing for potential cloud service outages

In a meeting yesterday, we discussed business continuity and how to prepare for potential cloud service outages, we saw in the news today that thousands of users Microsoft are currently suffering such an outage.

This demonstrates that it is important to recognise that complete reliance on third party services can cause business disruption and that preparation is important in order to enable agencies to continue operating their businesses. We would urge all companies to undergo a business continuity program to ensure backup processes are in place to reduce the impacts of this type of outage.
