The role of Registered Manager within the fostering service requires skill, knowledge and leadership qualities. The Fostering Regulations 2011 clearly expects the person to safeguard and promote the welfare of children placed in the fostering agency and manage the challenges this brings with care and competence.

There is an expectation on the Registered Manager to have a good overview of the service and those within this, including managing resources, staff and having a good oversight of carers and children in their care.

The role and responsibilities include adhering to the agency's “statement of purpose” and ensuring that all decision-making and management oversight is reflective of the Regulations, Standards and guidance in place to keep the “agency safe”.

Together we’ll explore:

  • The role of the Registered Manager and the skills required for this post
  • The expectations of being a Registered Manager within the organisation and externally
  • Managing the service and the challenges this brings
  • Remaining safe, compliant, risk sensible
  • And evidencing how you are a learning organisation

The cost for the session is £115 per delegate.
